MONKS YARD
Monks Yard has been the home of Ilminster Literary Festival since its inception in 2016. It offers conferencing and events facilities, business spaces, a photography venue, and a local café, with on-site parking. Accessibility: the Festival conference and events rooms on the first floor are accessible by lift; there is disabled WC provision on the ground floor and disabled parking is available close by with level access to the venue.
Directions to Monks Yard: from the roundabout junction between the A358 (from Taunton) and the A303, take the exit by the Little Chef/Shell petrol station, signposted to Chard. After 600 yards, take the right-hand turn at the bend in the road and the Monks Yard complex is clearly visible on the left.
The café at Monks Yard provides light meals, home baking and hot and cold drinks. As there is likely to be some pressure on the kitchen at busy lunchtimes, why not pre-order your food before attending one of the Festival events?
