Inspired by the real life adventures with big cats, Martin shares Indy’s loveable personality with children around the world. This descriptive book, with easy to follow text, was illustrated by Marisa Morgan. As well as providing an entertaining read, Martin hopes to spread awareness of the plight of endangered big cat species among the target audience of three to eight-year olds. Fun to learn tiger facts and the importance of conservation activities are included at the back of the book.
Martin Hill was born in London and studied science before becoming the co-founder of an educational resource to encourage children to read.
Martin has worked with Big Cats for almost 20 years. During that time, he has been fortunate to raise several special big cats, but one in particular has proved very special indeed. Indy the Tiger was one of the most loving and affectionate tigers he has ever had the honour and pleasure to form a friendship with. The many hours spent together can never be forgotten. During these years, Martin and Indy visited several children’s hospitals across London, sharing their love and affection. The visits were organised through an initiative called CHATA (Children in Hospital and Animal Assisted Therapy). The ability to interact with a cat or a dog can have a very positive impact and can help with recovery.
