Tim Scott Bolton: Artist and Author
An After-lunch talk on Landscapes of ‘Capability’ Brown
A suggestion of an exhibition on ‘Capability’ Brown three years ago led to Tim Scott Bolton’s first book, and it has been a journey of discovery for him in its creation. He has made a national reputation for himself as a landscape painter, and because it was the great painters of the early 1700’s, such as Nicholas Poussin and Claude Lorraine that partly inspired the naturalistic landscape movement of which Brown was the greatest exponent, he felt it appropriate for a painter to celebrate Brown’s tercentenary.
Born in 1947, Tim lives on an organic farm in South Wiltshire and he and his wife run the Summerleaze Gallery in their farmyard.
